Hi there
I'm hoping there's a security alarm buff out there who can help me out.
When my husband and I built our house a few years back we had a Crow Powerwave-8 alarm system installed. We never used it but recently there's been break-ins in our area, which has provided us with a timely kick in the butt to get security conscious.
I've grabbed our client user manuals for the system and have worked out the basics - changing the master code, time/date, phone numbers, etc. I'm having a hard time getting my head around the zoning stuff though. And I'm wondering about the STAY function (i.e. the ability to arm the system when people/pets are in the house) and how it actually works. We'd like to use this function at night while we are sleeping.
Also, if I arm the system when we are not home, will our indoor cat trigger the alarm? I've heard some systems will only trigger for moving objects of 10kg+, but not sure if this is one of them.
Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!
